The Legend of Korra

I think The Legend of Korra is the best thing that happened to me this summer. I've been a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Aang ever since I was in the second grade. My friends and I used to pretend that we were characters in the show. I always ended up role playing as Appa because I guess I was the tallest and biggest of them all. They used to hop on my back and say "yip yip" and I would zoom across the school hallway until we get caught by kill-joy teachers. I don't think my friends back then remember those times or even remember me at all, but I'll surely never forget.
I don't remember what grade I was when Avatar aired it's last episode, but I do believe I cried. My siblings say I was being melodramatic, but Avatar was my childhood, my present, and what do you know? Because of Korra, it might as well be my future.
Avatar is so thought out, the plot is phenomenal, the characters aren't just mary sue's and gary stu's, they're all unique in their own way, and their back stories make them even more special. And I have a feeling that The Legend of Korra will turn out to be as amazing as The Legend of Aang. I've only watched four episodes now because the rest aren't aired yet (or at least done, maybe.). The first four episodes were jaw-dropping, it didn't disappoint me and it was more than I expected. Hopefully sooner or later they'll show the characters' back stories because those are my favorite parts, the back stories always show the reason why a character acts the way he or she acts. I am more than excited to watch the rest of the series. Everything about it is to die for, every episode has it's cliff hangers which leaves you begging for more.
One day, when I have children, I'll let them watch both shows. I'd love to witness them zoom around the house, too, pretending to be benders and heroes of their generation. I'd love to see them learn and understand Iroh and  Tenzin's words of wisdom. I'd seriously want them to grow up as "Avatards".
